Candy Land

When I was a little girl, I remember playing the game, "Candy Land". I always dreamed of living on top of gum drop mountain, or going through the lollipop forest. Now you can have your very own Candy Land, well kind of.

The Candy Land game was my inspiration behind this Candy Station. This Candy tray is great for Christmas parties or even birthday parties, any special occasion. Your kids will love this idea! My boys are older, and their eyes were as big as those lollipops when they saw this tray!

First, I got out any crystal or glass I had that I thought would work. One of the pieces of glass I used was an old vase. Now it is a part of my trayscape. Hey, that's a great idea!! Instead of a tablescape we will have a trayscape day! Hmmmm, I will be working on that idea more....

I washed out any crystal or glass, so I could get that extra shine to it. I bought this beautiful pewter tray at the Second Baptist Christmas Market from The Pewter Lady. Don't you just love it?!?!?!

I got most of my candy from Wal-Mart. I ran in one late night for something and ended up in the candy isle. That is typical me though. They had a great selection and good prices.

Next, I setup the crystal/glass on the tray and moved it around making sure most of the tall or bigger dishes were in the back. I want all of my candy to be seen.

 I filled some of the tall skinny glasses with the faux snow flakes that I purchased from Hobby Lobby for $1.99. One bag goes a long way. I only needed one bag for this project. Only put the snow in glasses that you will put lollipop sticks in or candy that is wrapped.

I then put my bulkier candy in the back so that it makes a great back drop and focal point.

Then I just added the rest of the candy.  

Here is the candy I added: lollipop trees, lollipop swirls and long stick lollipops, "chick-let-like" gum pieces, hard candy, peanut M&M's, fireballs. The fireballs give a nice cinnamon smell to your home. Be sure to use a variety of candy.

The final touch was sprinkling the snow flakes carefully around the tray, I was very careful not to get any in my open candy dishes.

Now, I want you to see what you can do if you don't have a tray and you are having a party. This candy station is near my entrance. What better way to welcome guests?

 You can also sprinkle more snow flakes around the table.

I transferred the candy over to a smaller tray, more "every day" tray. This station will stay setup through the holiday. Or as long as the candy will last!

It is Thanksgiving but it's already Christmas in My House

 I wanted to share some of my Christmas decorations with you.

I will be showing you how easy it is to make an arrangement. All you need to do is get your creative juices flowing. You would be amazed at what you can use.
