Santa's Sangria

Santa's Sangria is the perfect beverage for a Holiday get together. Especially, if you do not like the taste of alcohol. It's light and sweet like punch.

Sangria Recipe:

1/4 cup of Rose's Sweetened Lime Juice
1/2 cup of Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum
1 Bottle of Red Wine
1/2 to 3/4 of a half gallon carton of fruit juice ( orange juice or orange-pineapple-banana)
1/2 to 3/4 of a 2 liter bottle of Ginger Ale to your own taste

Stir to mix

Garnish with slices of orange, lemon, and lime.

Have yourself a Merry Little Martini Station

There is nothing better than for your guests to pour their own drinks. It gives them something to do while you are greeting all of your newly arriving guests. Why not make it fun! Setup a specialty drink station. It is fun to learn to mix a new drink and they have a recipe to take home with them.

Be sure to print it in a good size font on the computer so after a cocktail or 2 they can still read it...if you know what I mean. Frame it in a nice picture frame for decoration and so it doesn't get wet and ruined.

A regular square stack of napkins is a bit boring. Twist them, fan them out, stack them around the station, whatever you like. Make it part of your decor.

Slice your fruit the morning of the party. Slice your lemons into wedges and put them in a baggy so the juice stays fresh. Get your fruit out right before the party and place them in nice dishes.

I bought this Organic Sparkling Pomegranate juice from Costco. I am a sucker for a pretty bottle. They come in a box of 6.

Be sure to have refill items stocked behind the station. You don't want anyone to think you have run out of cocktails. Party foul!

Be sure to have all the measuring cups etc. out too.

You are ready to host. Enjoy!

Make your own Christmas Wreath

This year I have a swag on my front door that I purchased from the Nutcracker Market. So I decided to take my wreath from last year, which was falling apart by the way and spruce it up.

I hot glued some of the ornaments because they were coming apart while I was handling them.

I tied the ornament hangers around the wiring in the wreath and tied it like a twist tie. I started at both sides of the wreath because I knew I was going to be putting a big bow on it and needed lots of room at the top.

After I placed the balls in three different spots I just filled in the empty spaces with the remainder of ornaments.

I took my wreath door hanger and wrapped it with ribbon and hung it on the mirror. I used the door hanger because it is a really big mirror and wreath! I did not want to take any chances with the wreath falling off the mirror. Merry Christmas!

Don't have time for a project? Here is a great buy! Ready to go wreath, just add your ribbon.

Looking for a gift or decorating for the holidays?

Laurie's Home Furnishings

Laurie's Home Furnishings is just a hop, skip and a jump away from Cypress. It is nestled right on the outskirts of the City of Tomball. Laurie's is a great place to shop for a gift for yourself or a friend. They have everything from housewares to furniture and everything in between.

They also make custom furniture.

All of Laurie's furniture is gorgeous and functional.

They carry lots of Precious Goods Brand items, which are great for everyday and entertaining.

I love this bedding!!

I will take the sign and she will take the sofa! That sofa is screaming Monica's name. She is the Leopard print queen!

Laurie's has lots of great gift items!

I love everything at Laurie's and could have stayed all day! There is so much to see.

No other way to greet a guest than a Welcome sign. Even my precious cocker spaniel, Rosie agrees. She is peeking through the window to greet you now!
