Simply Elegant

It should be Valentines Day every day! I love fresh flowers and candles. It makes my home feel so warm and cozy. I was inspired by my friend Carol, who had a very similar tablescape over the holidays.

Mercury glass is very popular and a classic to decorate with.

I bought one bouquet of flowers from the grocery store and filled this whole table.

I thought it would be nice to leave my red candles from Christmas out and mix it in with the mercury glass and plain glass votives. I think it really makes my roses pop.

I filled the tray with a bag of red metal hearts from hobby lobby. (purchased last year)

This picture was taken from the backside of the table.

Mercury glass comes in lots of different colors, shapes and sizes. I have gold and silver pieces mixed in with plain glass and other types of votives.

Oops, I forgot to light one. I counted them because of this blunder and realized I have 24 candles on the table!!!!! I think that might be a fire hazard. No wonder I missed it, thats a lot of candles.

My favorite piece of Mercury glass is this round silver piece. It is just beautiful.

Thanks for the inspiration, Carol!

Mercury glass is my favorite thing. I just love it!! Go out and get some today! Enjoy!!

Here is some beautiful mercury glass!! Just click on this picture and it will take you to Amazon to look at other great pieces!!

Share Some Love

I am back from a nice long holiday break. Refreshed, revived and ready to get back into the swing of things.  This is the first full week back at school for the boys so I made some brownies for an after school treat. It's cold today.....I think everywhere, not just here in Cypress!!!
Greet somebody you love with some warm brownies  and a glass of milk or get everything you need and make it for a Valentine's day Treat.

Things you will need: 1 box of brownie mix, cookie cutters, wax paper, sharpie and sifter.

I used cookie cutters to trace and cut out letters from the wax paper.

I traced the cookie cutters with a thin red sharpie and cut the letters and heart out with scissors.

I placed the letter over a cut brownie and sifted the white powdered sugar over it. Simple.

Enjoy!!

This is a great buy! Get it in time for Valentine's Day!!
